2009 Volunteer Opportunities in Machias, Maine

May 18th- August 15th

A whole summers worth of volunteer opportunities at the hive this year!

Greetings from Maine!

While still in the midst of drawing and launching two excitingly large graphics campaigns, we also have a hankering to pour some extra love and elbow grease into our buildings and our community this summer!!!

That’s where you come in!

From painting the Hive (inside and out), to gardening and landscaping, to helping run events at the Grange…we have an easy way (or two) for folks to plug into 'Hive life planned for each month of this summer.

We have divided the summer into 6 two week long volunteer windows.  Although it is our preference to have folks fit their visits into this framework it is not mandatory.

But, as we need to keep the number of folks visiting at one time manageable (so that we can get to know you, and you can get a healthy dose of what life is like at the hive day to day) we are asking folks to be as flexible as possible about scheduling so the sooner you give us a heads up about when you wanna come, the better!!!

Please fill out our online I Want To Visit! webform if you are interested and we will bee in touch!

Listed to the left are larger intentions for work to be done throughout the summer.

There will also be:

  • Ongoing sewing projects
  • Roller-skate and bike repair
  • Data entry and administrative work
  • Poster rolling and mail order distribution help
  • Cooking meals
  • Help assist and facilitate community events at the Grange Hall
  • smaller miscellany, replete with some of your own spunk and energy!
