TWENTY QUESTIONS

Interested? Please answer these questions either in written form, or out loud on a tape or cd. Please feel free to elaborate on any topics not addressed here, or to include work samples, a resume if you wanna, and any questions you have about the Hive. Because we receive so many letters of inquiry, we’ve found that a written introduction is the best way to start a dialogue.

And since these are the same 20 questions we direct to everyone, please demonstrate how your responses relate to the specific tasks of the role you are interested in/how you would envision yourself in that position.

Thanks for your consideration- we look forward to hearing from you!

We are an all volunteer non-profit graphics collective based in Eastern Maine.

We are active in our local community as well as the international global justice movement.

Our base is the small coastal town of Machias, the hub of a large, sparsely populated county with a strong class consciousness and tradition of self reliance.

We own and operate a hundred year old Grange, formally a farmer's meeting hall, rich in the history of the populist movement's legacy of agricultural and community organizing.

In Maine, our food is collectively prepared, with emphasis on healing, whole foods… and acquired by work trade with local organic farmers (summer months only).

The Bees are mostly, but not exclusively, women that value building self-esteem and dismantling art-ego… considering ourselves to be anti-copyright cultural workers in service to the immense need for alternative communication strategies to address the complexity of current events.

The Beehive Collective is decentralized geographically, you need not move to Maine to join forces with us!

- YOU -

Are anxious to be part of a healthy, non-hierarchical organism in which to carve out a space for yourself and your projects based on your own inspiration, efforts, and self motivation.
