August is the perfect time to come contribute to the hive and plug into our work! We'd love if you came and stayed with us for a while and helped us out at our hive in Machias, Maine- while also learning more about our graphics, methods, collective living, and more. You can come for a day or the entire month, it's up to you! And if you're interested in a longer term commitment with the Beehive, August is a great time for us to get to know each other.
For this year's 2010 August workparty, we'll be working together outside at our collective house, cooking big collective meals in our well-apportioned kitchen, and spending lots of time organizing events at the Machias Valley Grange Hall, the community space & cultural center we own and operate in collaboration with lots of local allies, volunteers, and other organizations in our small rural town. The culmination of all this excitement will be a giant dress up dance party for all- the Blackfly Ball- for which you'll definitely need your dancing shoes and a shaky tail feather!
If you like to draw, make friends, lift heavy things, dance, revive historic buildings, swim, or generally contribute your time to our collective efforts, please consider volunteering!
Interested? Fill out the Wannabe a Bee form at the bottom of the page, or check out the details of the work party here! |
APPRENTICESHIPS:
We occasionally facilitate Apprenticeships for folks interested in an extended stay with the Beehive. If you're keen to learn new skills, spend time in Maine, take on a combination of administrative and creative labor, and possibly develop a long term relationship with the Collective, you may want to consider an Apprenticeship with the Hive!

Interested? In addition to coming to the August work party, a written letter is a great way to introduce yourself to the Hive. Please use the 20 questions above as a guide! We look forward to hearing from you.
