The Third Annual Blackfly Ball was a smash hit!
With the highest turnout to date, the 2008 Blackfly Ball brought an amazing cross section of Downeast Maine and beyond to engage in hours of fantastic music and revelry. It was a night NOT to be missed! Check out some footage below (more videos coming soon)
It's that time again!
Dig out your most outlandish costume and put on your dancin' shoes - YOU are invited to attend the Third Annual Blackfly Ball- a dress up dance party for all!
Beginning at 6pm on Saturday, August 16th, we will dance the night away at the Machias Valley Grange Hall, during
the 33rd Annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival.
This event, hosted by the Beehive Design Collective, has become a much-anticipated facet of the summer- We challenge you to keep still as we present you with three bands guaranteed to keep you in motion:
Homegrown in Washington County the Orange River Jazz Band, an
all-brass ensemble brings us elegant and energizing music you can't help but swing to!
Coming to us all the way from Providence Rhode Island, the What Cheer? Brigade is a NINETEEN piece radical street marching band that'll knock your socks off with a phenomenal wall of sound, and amazing choreography to match!

And what Blackfly Ball would be complete without Machias' own
Ukulele Club? Up to FIFTY community members with an extensive variety of favorites you might never know sounded so good on the ukulele!
We can't wait to see you and make this a night to remember, so mosey on down to the Machias Valley Grange Hall, on the waterfall in downtown Machias, and join in on
the fun.
